Reparteé
Reparteé is a web series I host and produce with Michael Epps Utley of Epps Interactive and Chris Raines of Bullhorn Media. Our desire is to reinvent what a business interview could look like and talk about interesting things in a casual but highly personal setting.
To accomplish this we bring two professionals together, share a meal with them and then start talking. It’s a simple formula but we think it gives us a chance to have fascinating interactions with people who are doing some amazing things.
Epic Frequency
Epic Frequency is a modern art company I started with my friend Nathan back in 2008. We were publishing a monthly podcast and one evening after a recording session wrapped up they started talking about the “cool design in the recording software made by the audio.” That sparked a conversation that grew into what eventually became Epic Frequency. Over the next two years we talked about the idea and finally got serious about it in 2010.
Epic Frequency launched in September, 2012 and the response was overwhelming. Sites like Uncrate, Cool Material and Wired talked about our products and in July, 2013 we launched two lines of music products.
Made South
Made South is a company that curates Southern-made gifts, goods and food. Every three months they ship a box of wonderful surprises to their subscribers. I serve on the Made South advisory board and have seen it grow from a mere idea into a thriving, passion-driven family business.
It’s been incredible to see how Chris and Kimberly Thomas continue to discover and showcase Southern makers and tell their stories every three months. They have expanded into some great partnerships and all the while retained the business as a family affair. All three of their children contribute to the work that goes into shipping the boxes every quarter.
If you like thoughtfully made, Southern goods, you should check out Made South.
